From Military Service to Artistic Expression
Early Life and Military Background
Juan Estrella, was born in the Dominican Republic. He moved to the United States when he was young and attended public school in upstate New York. Later, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a degree in Nuclear Engineering. At West Point, Juan developed discipline and perseverance, qualities that have helped him both in the military and in his journey as an artist. He served in the United States Army and was part of Operation Desert Storm, an experience that gave him a unique perspective on life.
Journey as an Artist
Now, Juan lives in Saint Augustine, Florida, where he works as a self-taught artist. He uses charcoal, graphite, and colored pencils to create his art. Juan loves capturing the small details that make each subject special—like the sparkle in an animal's eye, the lines around a smile, or the delicate shape of a flower. His goal is to create a connection between the subject and the viewer, evoking a deeper emotional response. Juan believes that true art should touch people in a way that goes beyond the visual.
Inspiration and Creative Process
Juan finds inspiration in the everyday beauty around him and in the special moments that bring people together. He loves capturing the essence of life in every piece he creates. Often, he spends many hours adding layers and refining details until his art reaches the level of realism and emotion he desires. Music plays a big role in his creative process, helping him stay focused and fully immersed in his work.
Life Beyond Art
When Juan isn't working on his art, he enjoys a variety of other activities. He loves competing in Ironman triathlons, running road races, reading, and occasionally skydiving. His hobbies are as exciting and varied as his art, showing his love for adventure and trying new things. Juan's competitive spirit and sense of adventure are a big part of who he is, influencing everything he does.
Passion for Life and Art
Whether he is drawing, running, or skydiving, Juan approaches each challenge with enthusiasm and dedication. His art and hobbies reflect his passion for adventure and his commitment to always doing his best. Through his art, Juan hopes to inspire others to see the beauty in everyday life and to find joy in every moment.
