Susan Pilgrim
Susan, a mosaic artist based in Thomson, Georgia, channels her fascination with colored glass, gemstones, and jewelry into creating stunning mosaic pieces. Since retiring from middle grades education, she has devoted herself to her art, transitioning from stained glass to mosaic for its flexibility with various media. Susan's dedication to her craft is evident in the meticulous hand-cutting of each stained glass piece, a skill she has honed over many years.
Susan's inspiration stems from her travels, where she photographs beautiful places such as ocean and beach scenes, horse farms, and flower gardens. These experiences breathe life into her realistic and colorful artworks, designed to transport viewers to the depicted scenes.
One of Susan's proudest moments was having the courage to have her artwork critiqued by a professional artist, which led to her displaying her work publicly. She finds great reward in knowing that someone appreciates her art in their personal space.
Susan's home and creations are influenced by the intricate florals she loves to recreate from her travel photos. Her style continues to evolve, reflecting the beauty she captures in her journeys.
Location: Thomson, GA
