Mohamed Elhassan, Nubian-inspired painter and visual artist, Art Box Gallery St. Augustine FL

Meet the Artist:

Mohamed Elhassan

Mohamed Elhassan began his artistic journey at the College of Fine and Applied Arts in Khartoum, where he first learned to interpret the world through form and color. It was there that he came to see art not only as a craft, but as a language.

His work draws deep inspiration from the Nubian civilization and the layered history of the Nile Basin. That heritage shapes his visual approach, informing the architectural strength, symbolism, and rhythm that run through his paintings, drawings, and digital work.

Mohamed’s extensive career in media production, including his work with Al Jazeera Media Network, further refined his visual sensibility. That experience strengthened his ability to frame narrative with clarity, precision, and impact, qualities that continue to define his artistic practice today.
