Larry W. Spear

Larry Spear’s journey in the arts transitioned from an initial interest in music to a profound connection with visual arts during college. Post-education, Larry taught at Broward Community College and Florida Atlantic University before working as an engineer, a role he took to support his growing family. Now retired, he dedicates his time to his true passion: painting.

Known for his abstract expressionist style, Larry's art features bold designs, vibrant color relationships, and dynamic brushwork, classifying him as a non-objective painter who draws inspiration from music and modern art. His impressive portfolio includes participation in over 80 juried shows and numerous awards, such as several Best in Show titles. Larry also invests his energy in the Useless Animal Farm Sanctuary, a non-profit he runs with his wife, aiding mistreated and disabled farm animals. His work reflects a mastery of visual elements, emphasizing texture and design over traditional representational forms.
