Meet the Artist:

Danielle Torry

Biography & Background

With over 25 years of experience in art, design, and hospitality, Danielle Torry is the owner of Art Box Gallery and one of its featured artists. Danielle is a creative leader who has a passion for art and loves bringing people together. You can learn more about our vibrant gallery and its mission by visiting our About Us page. Her passion for art began with her family's business, R. Scott English, which she runs with her mother, Deborah English. Together, they continue a long tradition of creativity and artistic excellence.

As both the owner and an artist at Art Box Gallery, Danielle's journey as a painter is deeply connected to her life experiences. She often listens to music while painting, just like her father did. The music helps guide her brush, and each stroke expresses both the joyful and challenging moments she has faced. Her art is filled with emotion, showcasing strength, beauty, and transformation, inviting viewers to connect with the deeper meanings in her work.

Danielle is known for creating spaces that make people feel welcome and connected. At Art Box Gallery, she brings together art lovers, tourists, and new artists in a friendly and inspiring environment. Danielle also draws inspiration from her family—she is the oldest of five siblings and loves being a mother to Bronson and Mataya, as well as a wife to Faraj.

Artistic Style & Influences

Danielle's work is inspired by many things, including her personal experiences and the vibrant culture of St. Augustine. Like her father, she lets music guide her creativity, using sounds and rhythms to connect with her emotions. This process makes her art feel very personal while also creating a universal connection with those who experience it.

Danielle works with a variety of materials, including acrylic, oil, mixed media, and watercolor, allowing her to fully express her emotions. She loves using bold colors and textured layers to convey movement and change. Her artwork often tells stories of strength and resilience, celebrating the beauty of different life experiences.

Notable Works & Achievements

Danielle has exhibited her work in many venues, making a significant impact on the local art community. Her pieces are known for their emotional depth and the way they tell relatable stories.
